At the very end of the episode, Rhonda (Kaitlyn Doubleday) attacked Anika (Grace Gealey), who finally admitted that she really was the one who pushed Rhonda down the stairs. Each woman got the upper hand for a moment as they fought on the edge of a balcony, so i wasn't sure who was going to win—but then Andre (Trai Byers) walked out just as one woman seemed to prevail (and the other screamed as she fell).
The other big event of the finale was Hakeem (Bryshere "Yazz" Gray) and Laura's (Jamila Velazquez)—but as you probably guessed, the pair didn't actually make it down the aisle. After a fight broke out mid-ceremony, Laura's protective dad called the whole thing off and Hakeem was left at the altar, brokenhearted.
Instead, it was Lucious who tied the knot—but not with Cookie! Instead, he and Anika had to get married to prevent her from testifying against him (after she was served a subpoena in the most dramatic way ever—and the reason she was seen dangling off of a balcony in the promo spot for the episode is because she was so distraught at the possibility of having to testify). Yeah. This family is messed up, but you knew that already.
Another fun fact i learned in the finale: Lucious has a half brother!
What did you think of the Empire season two finale? Who do you think died?!
