Demi Lovato may be on the right path to a full recovery, but she admits she’s had some bumps in the road.
MTV News reported the 19-year-old star opened up about life post-rehab in a special MTV documentary titled Stay Strong: Demi Lovato that aired Tuesday.
In an interview with host SuChin Park that is featured in the documentary, Lovato talked about some of the setbacks she’s experienced since she checked into Timberline Knolls rehab center in November 2010 for an eating disorder and cutting.
"I cannot tell you that I have not thrown up since treatment," the "Skyscraper" singer said. "I can not tell you that I have not cut myself since treatment. I'm not perfect. This is a daily battle that I will face the rest of my life."
According to Us Weekly, the documentary also follows Lovato as she returns to the Illinois-based rehab center to share her story with those currently in treatment.
"I just remember being 12, 13 and going through these issues alone," she said. "I didn't really have a celebrity or anybody in the public eye to look at and say well, 'if she got through this, then so can I.' I'm not fixed. This is a daily battle. But I continue to work my butt of because now I wanna be a legitimate role model."
So great to know she really wants to get better.
