Two nights ago we received a message from Sarah’s Uncle that her condition had taken a turn for the worse. She was admitted to the Intensive Care Unit at the American University Hospital in Beirut. Because of Sarah’s CF, her lungs were full of mucous and her body was having a difficult time getting oxygen into her bloodstream.
Yesterday morning we awoke to Nahr El Bared’s El Quds Mosque’s announcement that nine-year-old Sarah Kanaan had died. Her funeral was at 11:30am and we watched as her coffin was carried from the mosque to the cemetery where she was laid to rest.
We extend our deepest condolences to the Kanaan family. Rest in Peace little Sarah.
